Merrick Baliton, formerly known as Zen-Aku who was trapped within a three-thousand year old curse that brought havoc to anyone in their path. With the help of Shayla and some of the Wild Force Power Rangers, Merrick was able to break free from the curse and become the man he was always supposed to be. A Hero. One that would help the Power Rangers out whenever trouble was near. He didn’t just do it for himself, but for the Rangers, Shayla, and the people of Earth. Merrick cared deeply for Shayla and wanted to keep her safe no matter what, even if that meant jumping into danger, or even death.
Angel Grove was home to many and Merrick decided it was time to travel around and protect every city he could. While he was sitting on the Savage cycle and looking around at where else he could possibly go, that was when a sign caught their eye. It stated that there was a martial arts tournament going on today and it wasn’t like Merrick had anything to do, so he accelerated the bike and drove off towards the Juice bar where the tournament was being held. It was rather shocking that he was excited for something like this, even if it was something that he did in their spare time to stay in shape.
As Merrick pulled into the lot and parked the bike, the young man looked around at all the vehicles in the parking lot. "Wow, a lot of people are looking to see how far their training has come along. I might as well see what this tournament is like." He muttered under their breath, while stepping off the savage cycle. He wasn’t wearing any other protective gear, so he just walked right to the entrance of the building and opened the door. A ring followed from a bell that was hit as the door slid open and it startled Merrick at first, but he kept on walking until he made it to the bar.
When the young man looked over his shoulder, the dojo within the juice bar was filled with adults who all were wearing their dojo’s official gear. Merrick turned fully to keep their eye on the people within the dojo. It was a sight to see, especially because of how eager everyone was to get started. Just as Merrick turned his attention to the dojo side of the bar, that was when a voice rang out over the speakers. “The tournament will begin shortly. All participants must be in the dojo in order to spar. Please be ready when your name is called!” The voice was just as excited as the martial artists inside. Merrick continued to just stand back and watch all the competitors get lined up and ready for when their name would be called.
